Four Periods Before

I'm sitting here four, periods before,
My English poems are due.
I haven't the time, to make this one rhyme,
So I guess I'll just have to make do.

If I could think of a word, that rhymes with bird,
I'd be a guy with all the luck!
But, hey, it's no use, I'm as dead as a goose...
...or is it "as dead as a duck?"

Hey!  Yesterday in band, I almost froze my hand!
Maybe I'll write about that!
And if that doesn't work, I'll just go berserk,
And complain to my good buddy Pat.

But enough of this rant, I'll admit that I can't,
And give up on poem two.
It's the end of four, periods before,
My English poems are due.
